After weeks of tripping over building blocks, push trolleys and Lego pieces I can officially say I'm over it! So this week I put my mind to finding the most stylish storage solutions to turn this Toyco tornado back in to a clutter free zone! Here are a few of my favourite...
Baskets, Baskets, Baskets - There's no better way to hide toys, teddies and random pieces than a collection of stylish baskets. Its also a great way to build up the room. You could have a collection of three on the floor, make sure they are different sizes to make it interesting.
And always keep one common thread between them e.g. stick to the same colour family but vary in sizes, or different textures but same colour and so on...
Make an art of it - Sometimes you can turn that clutter in to a design piece in its own right. One of my favourite things to install at the moment is a hanging clothes rail, this creates space in the wardrobe for all the uglies. Kids clothing can be so dam cute anyway - I say feature it!
Shelving - sounds like a simple solution but it can get messy quickly, its really important to actually declutter the shelving itself. You can do this through decorative pull out boxes. Colour code the books on it and display favourite toys in centre stage.
The wardrobe - last but not least - there is nothing more refreshing than opening the doors to a children's wardrobe and not feeling overwhelmed by everything falling down on you. Its really important to get on top of the wardrobe organisation, just because you can close the doors doesn't mean you should! Add baskets, pull outs, colour code and throw out whats not needed!
So there you have it, some of my favourite storage solutions and just in time for some spring cleaning. Now go forth and de-clutter!
